The mission of Annabel’s is dedication to the highest quality of Early Years education delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, professionalism and individual pride. Through the British Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and child-centred learning, we aim to ensure that children develop to the best of their individual abilities and progress to the optimal next stage of their education while respecting the environment and different cultures.
Annabel’s began in 2002 as a day nursery staffed by Annabel with the help of a single assistant. Demand for a quality and modern Early Years education was high and Annabel’s grew quickly into the busy community it is today.
We firmly believe that the early years of a child’s life is the most important time to begin developing a life-long love of learning and the skills necessary to thrive in the modern world. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is based in the belief that play and exploration are fundamental to early education and to this we add our own, unique international perspective. At all ages we strive to balance learning holistically to a child’s individual interests and needs.
Learning is spread over two campuses. ‘Blu Bam Boo’ for 18 months to 3 year olds and ‘Annabel’s’ catering for 3 - 6 years old. Many of our children join us in K1 and don’t leave until the end of Year 1. We are lucky to be based in beautiful, natural environments which form great starting points for enquiry, observation and fun. We have adopted elements of Forest School outdoor learning and aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning with key teacher’s having undertaken training in these areas. At Annabel’s campus we offer activities after the end of the normal school day to extend the children’s learning; languages, dance, football to name a few. We aim to excite them about the world so that they want to learn more.
