About Annabel's International Kindergarten & Preschool

Annabel's Kindergarten & Preschool offers a British curriculum (EYFS) and a play based learning environment with a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning. Located in the heart of Bangkok, around Ekkamai and Thonglor, our purpose at Annabel's is to encourage children from age 1 to 6 to develop intellectual, social, and creative skills by providing creative opportunities for play and learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our Mission

The mission of Annabel’s Kindergarten & Preschool is dedication to the highest quality of Early Years education and international program delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, professionalism and individual pride. Through the British Curriculum Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Reggio Inspired child-centred learning, we aim to ensure that children develop to the best of their individual abilities and progress to the optimal next stage of their education while respecting the environment and different cultures.

Our History

Annabel’s Kindergarten School began in 2002 as a day nursery staffed by Annabel with the help of a single assistant. Demand for a quality and modern Early Years education was high and Annabel’s International School grew quickly into the busy community it is today.

British Early Years (EYFS) Curriculum

We firmly believe that the early years of a child’s life is the most important time to begin developing a life-long love of learning and the skills necessary to thrive in the modern world. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum (EYFS) which is based in the belief that play and exploration are fundamental to early education and to this we add our own, unique international perspective. At all ages we strive to balance learning holistically to a child’s individual interests and needs.

Learning is spread over two campuses. ‘Annabel's Nursery’ English Preschool for 18 months to 3 year olds and ‘Annabel’s’ International Kindergarten catering for 3 - 6 years old. Many of our children join us in K1 and don’t leave until the end of Year 1. We are lucky to be based in beautiful, natural outdoors and creative environments which form great starting points for enquiry, observation and fun. We have adopted elements of Forest School outdoor learning and aspects of the Reggio Emilia approach to learning with key teacher’s having undertaken training in these areas. At Annabel’s campus we offer activities after the end of the normal school day to extend the children’s learning; languages, dance, football to name a few. We aim to excite them about the world so that they want to learn more.

Reggio Emilia Inspired Approach To Learning

The Reggio Emilia is an innovative approach to learning that encourages self-expression, communication, and logical thinking. Guided by the inspiring approach, our teaching methods are designed to stimulate learning in the most creative and appropriate way that helps children make thoughtful decisions.

The Reggio Emilia focuses on three important influencing factors — educational, psychological, and sociological. These key components are attended to in order to create a classroom environment that is interesting and highly effective in expanding the minds of children, one adventure at a time.

1. Adventurous

We firmly believe that the early years of a child’s life is the most important time to begin developing a life-long love of learning and the skills necessary to thrive in the modern world. We follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is based in the belief that play and exploration are fundamental to early education and to this we add our own, unique international perspective.

2. Positive attitude

Children learning in a Reggio Inspired Classroom are instilled with confidence at a very young age so that they can face the future brightly and with certainty. Classrooms are designed in a way that motivates children to make confident and thoughtful decisions.

3. Logical Thinking Encouraged

With the Reggio Inspired Curriculum, children are given projects that elevates learning opportunities which includes problem solving among peers, and a chance for creative thinking and discovery. The voice of each child is heard and attended to in order to advocate a balance between a sense of belonging to the group and a sense of self.
